The Versailles Side Chair is best suited for more formal dining room decors.

You can also use it as an office chair. It can be be paired with the Queen Anne matching desk for an elegant office space. Like the chair, the desk is made from solid wood and is strong sturdy.

The chair is ready to make your own with your choice of our standard finishes. The comfortable back, thick wood sides, and seat makes this chair a wonderful addition to your dining room.

Choose your finish and either the wood or an upholstered seat from our selection. You can even send in your own fabric! The wood seat has a contoured seat for maximum comfort. The underside of our chairs are reinforced for a lifetime of use.  This chair is an instant favorite for its comfort and beauty.

Note: Please allow 6-8 weeks to ship Custom finished chairs. Shipping time will add to your time frame. Finished chairs ship fully assembled with leveling glides included.  Please advise if these will be going on wood floors so we can provide felt glides. We can use your fabric at no additional charge.  We ask for 1 yard of fabric per chair.  Select Customer Own Material or “COM” and a Customer Service member will reach out to you with instructions for mailing your fabric to our upholstery shop.

Real wood, not fake wood

Real wood has a strength that stands the test of time.

We proudly use real wood unlike our competitors who use particle board (also called MDF) that is covered in a laminate (plastic that has a wood look). If any part of the laminate or veneer peels away, the exposed particle board will crumble. The moisture expands the particle board and is not repairable.

Furniture in the Raw represents solid wood chairs, built to last. Our chairs are made of a Parawood.  This hardwood is a smart choice for our custom finish program.

Parawood grows on Malaysian plantations where it’s primary use is latex production.  The beauty and hardness for furniture was discovered to be the perfect source for this tree that was previously burned.  

This “Eco Friendly” tree is harvested for furniture after the latex yields become low, in about 25 to 30 years.  The parawood tree is a renewable option and a smart, affordable choice.
