Aspen Panel Back Stool
The Aspen Panel Back Counter Stool is part of the Modern Rustic Collection from John Thomas. It blends both rustic and modern design elements.
The Aspen stool is made of solid Acacia wood with a gray wash finish. The wash finish is the ultimate culmination of architectural design and craftsmanship.
Fall in love with this finish and the table and bench options! Acacia is heavy and lasts a lifetime.
Acacia is an environmentally sustainable hardwood with beautiful natural characteristics.
Acacia wood has been around since biblical times and long before it. It’s believed that acacia wood was used to construct the Tabernacle and Ark of Covenant because it was virtually indestructible.
It’s a sustainable wood because once cut, another one is planted and grows to a great size quickly . It’s known for its strength and resistance to wear and the perfect choice for home furnishings.

Real wood, not fake wood
Real wood has a strength that stands the test of time.
Many competitor products use particle board (also called MDF) that is covered in a laminate (plastic that has a wood look). If any part of the laminate or veneer peels away, the exposed particle board will crumble. The moisture expands the particle board and is not repairable.
Furniture in the Raw only represents solid wood and real wood plywood in all its products. We never use inferior particle board.
Real Wood Characteristics
Congratulations. Purchasing real wood furniture is smart. Each tree is unique. Knots, cracks, grain variations and color differences are inherent characteristics and enhance the natural beauty of each piece. Changes in humidity due to air conditioning or heaters, exposure to direct sunlight, surface moisture and seasonal climate variations can cause wood to expand and contract over time. You can expect to find slight shrinkage, seasonal cracks or splits from time to time. These are normal occurrences that will not affect structural integrity of the piece. Our time-honored construction techniques such as mortise and tenon joinery, dovetailed drawers & floating tops and panels ensure this product’s durability by allowing for the natural expansion and contraction of real wood. Variations in rustic finishes, including worn edges, uneven planks, dents and nicks are considered a natural distressed characteristic of this furniture, and are not considered defects but rather are desired as character traits.
