The Whittier Wood McKenzie Master Dresser is an heirloom quality piece that’s available finished in Antique Glazed Cherry, Caffe, or unfinished.

This dresser is very large and has 10 roomy drawers. It has four large bottom drawers, four medium size drawers, and two smaller drawers. The full-extension metal ball-bearing drawer slides provide smooth and effortless access.

The McKenzie Master Dresser is made from solid American alder and features old world craftsmanship with such features as English dovetail drawers, mortise and tenon joinery, and fitted backs that ensures structural strength and stability.

Whittier McKenzie finishes are the most chemically resistant finishes available.  Spills including acetone, alcohol, or even permanent marker will not damage your finished product. 

Whittier Wood is very conscious about it’s use of wood and the environment. That’s why Whittier uses American red alder wood for it’s furniture. Alder regenerates naturally and grows quickly and prolifically.

Alder is a beautiful hardwood that is similar to cherry wood. It grows in the Pacific Northwest along a 125 mile-wide strip along the West Coast that stretches from Alaska to Northern California. The largest concentration of Alder stands just north of Portland, Oregon.

Red alder is almost white when freshly cut, but quickly changes on exposure to air to light brown with a yellow or reddish tinge. Alder machines well and is excellent for turning and polishing.
