The Whittier Wood McKenzie Bookcase Storage Bedroom Set includes the bookcase bed with 6 drawers, two side piers, and a ten drawer dresser with mirror.

The set is made from solid alder wood and finished in your choice of 3 beautiful finishes.

The McKenzie bed features an elegant design with bookcase shelves built into the headboard. The side piers have a door, a drawer, and an open shelf and takes the place of a nightstand.

This bed combines six storage drawers in the base and bookcase shelves in the headboard. The headboard, footboard, and drawer faces are paneled.

The storage drawers are have a large capacity and hold over 50 pounds. The bookcase shelves provide great storage including removable panels in the drop down lid.

The drawers have English dovetailed drawer construction, mortise and tenon joinery and fitted backs for stability and strength. The drawers also have full extension whisper quiet metal ball bearing glides that make storing blankets, pillow or lines easy.

The dresser has four bottom drawers, four medium size drawers and four smaller drawers across the top. It comes with a matching beveled mirror and hardware. The mirror may be attached directly to the dresser or it can mount on the wall.

Alder is a beautiful hardwood that is similar to cherry wood. It grows in the Pacific Northwest along a 125 mile-wide strip along the West Coast that stretches from Alaska to Northern California. The largest concentration of Alder stands just north of Portland, Oregon.

Red alder is almost white when freshly cut,but quickly changes on exposure to air to light brown with a yellow or reddish tinge. Alder machines well and is excellent for turning and polishing.

All Whittier products are finished using high quality catalyzed topcoats,  the most chemically resistant finishes available.  Spills including acetone, alcohol, or even permanent marker will not damage your finished product.
